About the rates
Australian tradies are usually covered by the Electrical Award (MA000025), Plumbing Award (MA000036), Building and Construction Award (MA000020), or Metals/Manufacturing Award. Each has slightly different overtime rules.
Typical defaults: 38 ordinary hours/week, first 2 hrs OT at 1.5×, thereafter 2×. Saturdays 1.5× (first 3 hrs) then 2×. Sundays 2×. Public holidays 2.5×. Check the specific award on fairwork.gov.au for your trade.
